Hello smile

I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.

Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...

OK, um  Just one more major-geeky diary entry before I go back to Extreme-Trannie mode — just so if I every forget in future, I've got a record of what I just did:

The HOWTO at http://developer.apple.com/server/fighting_spam.html is pretty straight forward, apart from a couple of things:

(1) Yes, you do need Xcode to install CPAN properly

(2) The /etc/postfix/master.cf instructions are slightly buggered. Firstly, it's not pointed out clearly enough that if you user Server Admin.app then you will lose any re-configuration you make to /etc/postfix/master.cf and /etc/postfix/main.cf — so stop using it to start/stop the server. And secondly, the order of the last line in /etc/postfix/master.cf is wrong. It should be:

procmail unix — n n — — pipe user=cyrus argv=/usr/bin/procmail -t -m USER=${user} EXTENSION=${extension} /etc/procmailrc

otherwise $USER won't get passed properly.

And that would appear to be that  SpamAssassin is now inserting headers into all my emails advising me how spammy things are.

...

Yes, I know that that's not exactly the nicest, most princessey diary entry I've ever written, but if you step back from it, it is quite pretty  — lots of different pinks and purple, and you gotta love the little box eh?
