Hello smile

I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.

Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...

Moon On A Stick

Bloody weather. One minute it's gloriously sunny and hot and everything, the next, I'm freezing my tits off and my fingers are going slightly numb.

The irony, obviously, is that a few days ago there was me bemoaning the fact that all this sunshine was making me not want to dress up...

..Oooh — is that cake? Can I eat it too?

Busyness

I thought, that rather than bleat on and on about how busy I am, I might just share a little snapshot of what I'm up to.

Basically, I've got four Big Websites™ on the go right now (five if you count my own. Actually, seven if you count all of my own...)

Three are important enough to earn the title "Great Big Websites™", purely on the basis of how much I'm getting paid for them, but one which I presume is OK to talk about is my current redesign of the Sparkle site.

Currently, Joanna and I are involved in shifting the thing over to a Linux server — which is why it's down (as I type), but it should be back up soon enough, and once I've ported everything across from my development server, it should be all brand-spanking new and lovely

A couple of things to note about it:

  1. It has a rather funky Content Management System
  2. I've incorporated a group blog into it.

Rather proud of that second point. Instead of hacking a Blogger template to pieces so that it fitted in with the redesign, I parsed the Atom feed from the blog into an array() and then was able to do all sorts of lovely things with it.

(yeah, I know  No-one cares )

Unimpressed

The future Mrs. Tom Cruise has already tried on at least one wedding gown. (via plasticbag.org -> mugwump)

One?! That's nothing. I've tried on at least five

Ooh — which CMS did you use?

but one which I presume is OK to talk about is my current redesign of the Sparkle site.

And pretty damn good it looked too. Well, it did, until I started the migration to the new server. I hope it comes back up....

((goes off to sacrifice a few goats to the Goddess of web servers))

Ooh — which CMS did you use?

Usual thing — I wrote my own. (I shouldn't have used the word "funky" up there, I should have used the word "flakey")

I hope it comes back up...

Should do soon. I had a peek in the /htdocs folder and all the stuff is there again.

From the "Future Mrs. Tom Cruise" link... "Tom and I will always be in our honeymoon phase," — excuse me while I stick my fingers down the back of my throat. And no, I'm not jealous of the old git, no honest.

Goddess of web servers

Joanna, you realise that's me don't you?

This is Kath's new friend

Nice tits though, eh?

(I reserve the right to delete this before Kathie gets within earshot of an Internet connection...)

"Nice tits though, eh?"

I actually thought you were referring to Jacob...And I looked very hard to find any

Wait until I meet Katie.....

I'll tell her. Honest, I will

lol talk about treading on thin ice, better hide the laptop for while

Yeah — OK. We do have the internet at work you know.

You might say 'Busted!'

me: hangs head in shame

And the interesting thing about Jacob is not his positioning on a handy black background. It is that he was made from the wire around the cork of a sparkling bottle of Jacob's Creek.

True Katie, lol that was a pretty dumb comment on my part, ddohhhhhhh. Oh and Jacobs pretty cool

Sorry Lana, didn't want to make you feel dumb — I was more referring to the fact that in order to delete it before I got into ear shot of an internet connection Ms Curran would have needed to be out of bed before I got to work at 9am — which, I think we can all agree, is unlikely to happen!

Are you saying it's unlikely that a member of Uni. Admin staff can be at work by 9?

Okay; I rarely manage it....

lol you didnt make me feel dumb hon, and I can relate to the 'not getting out of bed early thing', I hate mornings
