Hello
I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.
Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...

OMGZ!
Fun and Excitement™ on St Georges Quay today. I have no idea what was going on.
Flickr/Photos/Surf
That's cool but how do you get to that view?
Well, to quote GustavoG, whose post in this FlickrHacks discussion is where I spotted it...
Go to any image, and add to its url /surf at the end, e.g. change
www.flickr.com/photos/gustavog/7658703/
into:
www.flickr.com/photos/gustavog/7658703/surf
I like that man. I like his moustache too ![]()

I think that used to be the default photostream view or something didn't it? I remember there being some sort of clamour when it was "retired" (ie removed from navigation) during my very early days using flickr.
Earlier, in another discussion, someone came out with "Hey, what Flickr needs is some sort of chat room!"... ![]()
Gloves: Model's Own
I've been wanting to do some t-shirts for ages — nothing major, just a few little ideas that I've had over the years.
There's my all-time-classic "Does My Cock Look Big In This?"© for a start, but I also want to make some for shameless-self-promotional reasons too.
Earlier on, I was frustratingly trying to mock-up a t-shirt template in Illustrator, and failing.
"If only," I thought, "there was some kind of three-dimensional clothing try-out thingy that I could play with..."
Do'h!
Logo's a bit too big and a bit too low down, but it's a start ![]()
And if anyone knows a good quality inexpensive t-shirt printer that does proper screenprints (not that heat transfer crap) then both Siobhan and I would greatly appreciate if you could let us know.
Thank you!
Yes, I concur ![]()
Three Things That Are Narking Me Right Now
Sycophantic Backslapping
Now don't get me wrong here — I'm all in favour of supportive communities and helpful ego-boosting words of encouragement. But sometimes, sometimes I wonder if the whole touchy-feely approach that exists within some TV/TG forums steps over the line and becomes sycophantic.
Sometimes I just wish someone would turn around and say "No, I'm sorry. You don't look great. You look ridiculous"¹
A Failure To Lurk
Again, don't get me wrong — I'm always over the moon about new people joining in things and bringing fresh life, enthusiam and a new perspective to groups.
But occasionally I see someone barge into something I belong to, and show absolutely no kind of appreciation for the kind of environment that been painstakingly created over a long period of time.
(I'm not talking about this weblog — I like to think that I can field any completely left-field fruit-loops into a handy safe-box, and if not, my trusty friend Ms Everson
is always on hand to help me debug my .htaccess file
)
But elsewhere, I've seen people fling themselves — and their prams — head-first into an arena, causing mayhem and BizarroWorld Happenings™ all over the place.
Did The Internets run out of copies of that book that says you should lurk for a while and get the feel of a place before you open your gob?
There's Nothing On TV
Can't cope. Need Doctor Who fix.
Argh!
¹ Not to me, obviously...
Wireframe
Has this option always been there? Or is it new?
Sometimes I just wish someone would turn around and say "No, I'm sorry. You don't look great. You look ridiculous"¹
Yep, this bugs me too. But I wouldn’t stop at looks, often it’s behaviour too that is wholly inappropriate. Unfortunately even a quiet friendly word is way too much and egos can’t take it. Sure, everyone likes to be told ‚‘hey, you look hot‘ but it’s when that plainly isn’t the case and people are still saying it – well that’s just plain weird.
What I suspect is that these people really know what they look like but are struggling with an imaged ideal of what they want to be. So they do everything to avoid the truth. It’s the psychological equivelent of sticking their figures in their ears and going ‚‘lalalalalalalalalala‘.

Oops! can you add the 2 brackets that I missed, please. ![]()

If you need a Doctor Who fix, Shada is on tomorrow, at 6PM.

Thank you!
Two amazing films! The only bad thing was that they started at similar times!
Followed by Stephen Fry telling Zara Phillips that Bobbie George had a sovereign on his finger! fnar fnar.
I hope nobody gets that in before me![]()
Lost me there ![]()
Ah. So That Explains It Then
Discuss.
I'm feeling "all rolled up into one" right now.
But I've just been on the Tube in london
It's very bad of me not to attribute isn't it? ![]()
(And to take a short snippet out of context

Britain's Sexual Fantasies — Channel Five, 12.07.2006
Documentary exploring where our fantasies come from, why we have certain fantasies and not others and asking if we should ever share our fantasies with others. Presented by one of Britain?s leading psychotherapists, Brett Kahr, the programme uses results and research from the most comprehensive academic survey of its kind into the subject
On the whole, a tedious documentary with an excessive trait of repeating everything so far after each advert break. Mostly it was harmless gumpf — but that little quote stunned me into silence for a good ten minutes.
I just thought I'd share...
Meanwhile.. just been watching Kinsey on SkyMovies.... which ties in nicely with that Channel 5 thing....
Heres someting cool for all of yous interested in things happening in the sky

Uhh....yeah. I'm most definitely TS. And I most definitely don't want to be "a vagina and a penis all rolled up into one." I'd really like to do without the second one there.....
If you don't mind too much....
Frankly, who gives a monkey's chuff for the "analytical perspective" of this speccy thing?
Was he at the AGM? No? Hardly an expert, then...
Thought that was a bit of a spoof documentry especially as they were talking about Dame Edna Everage, until you attributed it. :-o

OMFG I wanted the Pink Panther car when I was a kid.
