Hello
I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.
Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...
Uh oh
Now then, I'm not sure whether that was an accident or on purpose, but my drainpipe seems to be broken

I Must Be Getting Old
So much to do. So so much. I've got a million and one articles to format and publish, a bunch of super-fun-SL-things to develop, a house that needs to be tidied¹, worksheets to write, books to read, proposals to make², lectures to plan ... and all I've got the energy for right now is Having A Little Nap™
Like I said, I must be getting old
At roughly three o'clock every day recently, I've become overwhelmed with a sense of heavy-headedness and an uncontrolable urge to lie down for a bit.
It wouldn't be so bad, it's just I worry that having forty winks in the middle of the day really screws up my ability to get to sleep properly at night — which isn't so much of a problem when the wine rack is stocked, but right now I'm running dry.
Anyway, whatever. The sofa³ beckons...
¹ As usual
² PhD ones, not romantic ones
³ Know what's weird? For some reason the thought of getting into bed in the middle of the day just never seems right. It's always the sofa that feels the most fitting. Odd.

Naps in the middle of the day? Yep. That's how it starts
I wouldn't worry about it affecting your sleep at night — that's just temporary: soon, you'll find you can't stay up as late as you used to anyway... Being rather more advanced in years that you what's worrying me is how soon will I be needing naps in the morning!
I go through periods of feeling drowsy at around 3pm but I find that it doesn't occur if I refrain from drinking at lunchtime...
Around about 5 o'clock I just crash. It comes out of the blue — I find my head lolling around and all I want is sleep. I think it's because I hardly ever feel that I sleep properly at night so my body's trying to sneak in the extra couple of hours it's missed.
looby
You all need to start eating slow burn carbs at lunchtime. Either that or start smoking rocks.
Or both. Works for me ...
in reality smoking sucks and has absolutely nothing going for it when it comes right down to COMMON SENSE.

What about smoking rocks?
Oooh. Good come-back. I've been racking my brain for the past three hours to think of one ![]()
