Hello
I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.
Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...

"Royalty rates for webcasters have been drastically increased by a recent ruling and are due to go into effect on May 15 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!). If the increased rates remain unchanged, the majority of webcasters will go bankrupt and silent on this date." — I rely on Soma FM a hell of a lot, and if the increases go through, it will royally suck
Is there an echo in here?

Heh — I just felt something with a little bit of political gravatas deserved mentioning again, perhaps not under a picture of boobies ![]()
Enable Remote Desktop on the Apple TV
A nifty hack to enable VNC access to an Apple TV — although I just used it to get a VNC connection to my new server
I should, perhaps, elaborate on that a little — just in case (you know) someone perhaps was having difficulty setting up their brand new Xserve. Maybe.
Out of the box, Mac OSX 10.4 supports Apple Remote Desktop, a nifty feature of which is the ability to set a password that lets VNC users connect to it too.
Now, the problem is that you (I thought) need to actually do that on the server — it's a little checkbox in the ARD section of the Sharing Preference Pane — and if you're running it headless, then you can't do that. In a vicious-circle kinda way.
Anyway — follow the steps in that linked hack, then you can use an app like Chicken of the VNC to connect to your server's screen and change the VNC password ASAP.
Now you can use the Server Admin tools directly on your server, if you can't seem to use them remotely ![]()
Chicken of the VNC wins the award for the best named application.
Ive had some success at work....Cocoa is upa and running and connecting to 127.0.0.01 (after trying every other setting known to man). So im looking at a remote desktop (so i dont have to sit in the server room to add files) or FTP.
Happy Days (thanks for being on hand the other day)

"What is conscious — what is knowing itself — is the ordered but hidden data coming at the brain from all around."
Sorry — normally I just train SpamSieve with the ones that slip through the net. But that one, I thought, warranted noting in some way.
Bedroom 2
What the sales-blurb doesn't mention, of course, is that Bedroom 2 is where Siobhan Curran first tried on women's clothing, and realised she was a tranny
Dang — missed a USP* there! ![]()
*Unique Selling Point.
Wait 'til it's sold, then contact the new owners about putting up a blue plaque.

Wow. Some of us can just about afford the £50,000 bit of the price. ![]()
I should, perhaps, point out that it's not my parents selling it — it's the developer that bought it off them. Have you any idea how Bouncy Happy™ I'd be at the moment if I was in line for a share of that wonga?
You wouldn't be so happy when you get the inheritance tax bill :/
Sorry, I meant capital gains blush
I think I would have drunk myself well past the point of caring by the time that happened ![]()
