Hello
I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.
Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...

tranniefesto rss feed comments
Two years and three months ago, Kris
suggested I put my l33t vi skillz to use by writing an RSS feed for the comments on this blog.
Okay, I'm geeking a byte too far here...anyhoot, why not practice by coming up with an RSS feed for the comments, eh?
Much, I hope, to the delight of Charlee, I've actually gotten around to it ![]()

Enjoy. (And please tell me if it doesn't work

There's Nothing For You Here
This is a local post. For local people...
Two small snippets of Lancastrian news that I just caught sight of before I tossed (as I always do) the local free shit rag newspaper — The Citizen — next to the fire for firelighters.
A601(M) is teh Slow
Apparently, the A601(M) (that links the A6 and the M6 at Carnforth) is the slowest motorway link road in the country, with an average speed of 35mph as opposed to Gretna where the average is 72mph (naughty).
When statistics get chucked around like that, it's very easy to jump to conclusions — for example, that this is A Terrible Thing™, and the road is very shit or something.
Personally, I always bomb up that road. And I'm wondering if perhaps the average is so slow because of all the lorries going to the truck stop, and the fucking caravans going to The Lakes.
Maybe? ![]()
"Cops Target Canal Drunks"
Apparently (2), the police are going to clamp down on people who sit by the canal drinking. I'm kinda in two minds about that. I must confess that whenever I'm walking along the cyclepath into town, and there are groups of lads/kids hanging around drinking and shouting at passers by, I do get nervous.
But there's a slight reticence in me to overly-controlled social behaviour, and I can't help but note that from soonish, this will be a country where you can't smoke inside, and you can't drink outside.
But anyways, it was British Waterways's 'solution' to the problem that stood out. To stop people from drinking on the benches ... they've taken away the benches.
Genius ![]()
(Numbnuts)
they've taken away the benches.
I guess it was either that, or the canal!
Map
Decided to make a diagram of the build, and attach teleport thingies onto it ![]()
Probably need to slap branding on it though, along with some info in a notecard. But I'd promised myself a day off...
"7 year itch" ?
You know, if I was a Flash-type animation-thing sort-of person, I could use that as a base for some very cool, er, Flash-type animation-thing. But I'm not ![]()
Your floor plan brings back memories of the three years that I spent on floors 8 and 9, with a little bit of helping printing on floor 7.
Who would have thought I'd be reminded after all these years. Its nice to see all the prims adding up, it was quite a while back when you gave me a private tour around the secondlife building.
It was strange when I was in Leeds a few weeks ago, to look up at the building and make the connection with Siobhan/Kisa (sorry that makes you read like a split personality!)
.... and it really is a small world cos my sister lives in Lancaster too!

Damn right I'm delighted!
/me bows ![]()
I must apologise in advance, however, if one or two spam comments get through and end up in people's RSS readers. I've gone and doubled the work involved to strip the buggers out, but I'll try and keep on top of them.
a little bit of helping printing on floor 7.
You know, I'd love to find old photographs of things like that — I'm led to believe that there was a complete Heidelberg offset press on the 7th — where the computer rooms are now — and that it was installed as they were half-way through building the floor.
The domain that I grabbed as a quick link to the Slurl of my build — http://hbuilding.org — I'd actually intended on trying to use that to make some kind of archive of stories and photographs of all the things that have happened/come out of H Building in the last forty years.
If you've got any old pictures Misty, can you send them to me? ![]()
...
Just one more thing about the comment feed: what I'd really like to do is work out some way of determining when I write something new — but not under a new 'topic' — and add that to it.
The tricky part is there's no obviously easily determinable 'event' that happens when I write — seeing as I'm flittering around with text files, rather than having a $_POST['submit'] that could trigger an update.
The obvious one, I guess though, is when I save the file, or cat to it from the command line — but I can't just rely on comparing the timestamp of the source, because that changes whenever a comment gets posted (and a twitter thing gets added) as well. And even though I've tried to compensate for that in the code by altering the timestamp so that it doesn't change, I've never had much luck with making it work properly.
But hey — I've got more pressing issues today — like blow-drying some socks and pants so that I've got something to wear...
...blow-drying some socks...
OK, so now I've heard everything! ![]()
Yes there was an old Heidelberg, what a fantastic work of art it was — what on earth did they do with it?
old photographs ...
sure thing, if I ever come across any I'll scan the and send you copies — if there are any they will be somewhere in boxes in the attic (how things have changed with digital)
Is there still film and tv on the top floor? Mark Almond (ex soft cell) did fine art when I was doing graphics and he almost lived there.
