Hello
I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.
Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...
A Gathering
Right this second, blokes in frocks from all over the country are most likely chin-wagging over coffee on Canal Street in Manchester, comparing lipgloss and beard-cover, waving at each other in affected campishness. I, however, am sat with my feet up on Ian
and Kim
's sofa in their living room in London, preparing myself to go to SLUK.
I wasn't planning on it. In fact, I wasn't planning on doing anything this weekend. I'd intended just to sit in my studio watching my traffic dwindle to a trickle, grumping internally that everyone else was meeting up and having fun.
But a chance opportunity to come down to London on work-based business (and therefore, paid for) threw itself in my face earlier in the week, and I figured I'd be an absolute fool not to take the chance for some face-to-face banter with like-minded geeks.
So, in a little while, I'll be cramming myself onto the Tube to head up to Shoreditch, to surround myself with avatar-less people flinging laptops around like there's no tomorrow.
I have to confess, I'm a little nervous. True, I was there last year, so hopefully there'll be some vaguely recognisable faces. Trouble is, last year I got stupendously drunk, and I'm not sure I can remember who I talked to.
I'm kinda wishing that everyone had their names floating above their heads...

I'm really interested in knowing what it was like, I've had mixed experiences meeting people who I had previously only met online (particularly where alchohol was in the mix). Hoping for a meaty post about this.
