Hello
I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.
Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...
CCTV cameras, ineffective
"police are no more likely to catch offenders in areas with hundreds of cameras than in those with hardly any" — (also via we-make-money-not-art)
An Evolutionary Architecture
"Originally published in 1995 and now out of print, the book gives a fascinating history of experiments in computational architecture going back to the 1960?s" — John Frazer's book is available as a free PDF download (via we-make-money-not-art)
Television 'highlights' (all on Ftn):
2300 — Booze Britain: Lancaster's drinking culture.
2330 — Sin Cities Unleashed: The fetish for dressing-up and role-playing.
Is there something you want to share with us? ![]()
Ah, yes. I should have mentioned. I sold the rights to televise my blog to them...
Targeted Marketing
They're trying to sell me car insurance. Two things:
1. I'm not a real person
2. If they'd wanted to impress me, they would have bought me S108 HAN
(Did anyone else get one of these?)
I got one a while back, not in Becky's surname though (probably couldn't get the accents).
I've been meaning to tell you. I saw S108HAN the other day. In Aberdeen. On a brand new Bentley Continental.
I was wondering if there's something you weren't telling us.

Wow! I just got one of those today!
I not had one. Shoudn't they have sent you TRANN13F35T0, not that that's a real plate or anything. Ho hum.
rachel
Because "CURRAN01" is a real plate? ![]()
@Clodagh — Well, you see, what with the money I made selling my blog to FTN...
(Actually, if you see it again, can you take a picture?
From what I read, somewhere, it was sold for about £30,000 — which is about what I paid for this house)
@Becky & @Deacon — quick poll: did you get yours just about the same time your insurance was up for renew? (She said, suggesting a conspiracy)
Considering just how out of reach S108 HAN is, BTW, if anyone would like to fork out large wads of cash on a personalised numberplate for me, I'm currently pondering the prospect of anything starting with K 154 ![]()
...
Vanity plates are a bit cheaper here.
I was thinking of "Ducati" for the Ducati... But then you have to pay the State a small fortune every year, and as I pay them enough already, well, forget it! I did try for "Vespa" for the Vespa, but it was taken (at the time).
Car shows always produce good plates: "63 Vette", "My Chevy", "My Ford" and so on. Caprice Bellefleur [sp] (http://capriceglob.blogspot.com/ and http://capriceglob.blogspot.com/search/label/plat%20du%20jour) usually has pics of the plates she's seen around New York.
Just rambling through... Don't mind me... ![]()

I think I may have mentioned this before; but I always wanted BLX 2U. My other favourite, which was last seen on an E-Type Jag' belonging to a pr0n publisher, is PEN 15. There was a plate that boy-me always coveted, but as it was used on a car that featured heavily in a well-known television series, I gave up all hope of ever owning it. Kind of put me off the whole 'vanity plate' thing ![]()
Three weeks after renewing. So it's within the right timeframe, but if everybody's getting them, then it's probably just coincidence.

They also don't deter violent drunken street crime as the perps are far too drunk to consider the consequences of their actions let alone the presence of cameras (as bitter experience testifies
).
