Hello smile

I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.

Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...

/me waves

For some reason, everything seems very dark this morning. Murky November seems to be looming, and some genius has turned most of the lights off here at work, so it feels like evening, rather than morning.

Hi. Sorry, I'm a little bit all over the place right now. I noted to myself the other night that I seem to have compeltely lost the ability to write anything — resorting to chucking random things onto the internets just to prove I'm still around.

(Although I was rather proud of my little film the other day. Normally, when I'm inducting the students into DV editing, I end up with effects-laden pieces of shite, just to prove to them how awfu you can easily make something. But this time I was quite chuffed with the outcome — even if the grammar in the text wasn't spot on)

So yeah, little bit stressy today.

My ongoing car-radiator saga is, er, ongoing. I thought I'd fixed the bloody thing last week, but she's been overheating again. Yesterday I was stressing out about how there's no Halfords in the centre of Leeds, and that I'd have to risk a short journey in her this morning, to get some more of that RadWELD stuff.

But while I was filling her up for a rather long drive that I'll be making tonight, it suddenly dawned on me that you can get that sort of stuff in petrol stations.

So I did.

And hopefully that'll have sorted it out.

At least for the weekend, and maybe the next few weeks.

...

Ah, the next few weeks

Every morning is another day closer to when I see her. I'm still finding it hard to believe that she's actually! Going! To! Be! HERE! in exactly a week. We've been in an almost continuous Skype conversation with each other ever since we've met — leaving it on overnight so we can watch each other sleeping — and the touch of a laptop screen is no replacement for actually being able to hold her.

Seriously guys, I really wish I had the words to explain just how cloud-niney I feel at the moment. Every time I talk to her I find new things to adore — her music, her infectious enthusiam, her laugh ... she makes me beam with pride, and splits my sides some times.

I'm completely smitten by her, and even though I know it's only been a short while, even though I know that I shouldn't let my head run away with itself before we've spent some seriously wonderful time together, I just honestly feel that she is one of the greatest things to ever happen in my life.

And if next Friday doesn't hurry up and get here soon, I'm going to explode.

Oh, it's so wonderful to hear someone so full of joy right now. Just what I need after the week I've had. I shall be keeping everything crossed for you, in the hopes that a) you don't explode before she arrives and b) life gets even more wonderful once she is here.

Oh, and I finally found time to watch your film clip from the other day. What a wonderful insight into your world. Say 'Hi' to Biscuit and Tish for me will you? They are gorgeous

Duct tape will help with the exploding. If that starts to fail, in the bath with blankets, duvets etc. on top of you. It means your landlord will find the mess easier to clean up!

But, slightly more seriously, yay. I hope it's great for both of you come next Friday. We're all braced for weeks of incoherence (well I am anyway) and we're all rooting for both of you — it's nice to see someone this happy.

Big hugs for both of you.

The Ed Wood Machinima Festival

"Friday night at 7 PM SLT, in Lukanida, Alt-Zoom Studios will present the Ed Wood Festival Highlights of Yesteryear, showcasing the 13 past entries into the contest. That will give people an idea of the kind of quality that wins dubious awards."

Don't eat that extra slice of ham...

You shouldn't fall for her before you've had a chance to think about what you're doing? Sure you should. Worked for me. I was head over heels from the moment I laid eyes on her, and turned my life upside-down (aren't metaphors wonderful?) without stopping to think. 18 years later: I'm still head over heels. It makes walking difficult, but what the heck: I float on a cushion of love.

Aw  That's so sweet!
