Hello smile

I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.

Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...

Dear thetrainline.com

You stupid piece of fucking shit.

Seriously

I mean, you know? Had you not fucked up every single part of the process of me and Amiee buying a ticket to London for tomorrow — and trust me, it was 'tomorrow' when we started — like not letting us choose a different address and card, and not recognising that the card wasn't the same as the one I normally use, and then not just generally being a TOTAL PIECE OF SHITEY CRAP-WEB FUCK-RIDDEN WANK, then it wouldn't have just turned midnight as we managed to get through your arcane system of click-through BOLLOCKS (during which we had to uncheck insurance every time, because hey! This is the UK, and that stuff is FREE)

And we would have been able to buy tickets. But we can't. Because you're SHIT.

Cunts.

I feel your pain.

thetrainline.com is truly the most hideous website in existence.

The thing that gets me is the way it only shows five train times on any journey at once and you have to keep clicking earlier/later times and waiting a minute for the page to reload. When you're trying to book the discount tickets and aren't too worried about what time you want to travel, this is an absolute nightmare — just show the whole timetable, that's why I've got a widescreen monitor for chrissakes!

Heh — it was the fact that we'd gone through the whole process, several times, and when we finally got to the point where we were ready to buy the tickets, the clock had just gone past midnight. So we suddenly couldn't buy any tickets for today

Pre-Emptive Photographic Explanations

(And also a teensy bit of stress)

As you well know — because I link to it quite a fair bit to try and drive up the traffic — part of my job at the University is involved with putting together a Research Journal, four times a year.

It mustn't seem like a terribly difficult task — reformatting a few (100) articles and photographs, uploading them to a site that I've already automated as much of it as possible — especially since I've written a few shell scripts to process the vast bulk of the images and films.

But it is.

And it drives me nuts every time I find myself engrossed in it.

One of these days, I'll try and write something to explain why it drives me nuts — probably referring to the inability of a large proportion of artists to understand the concept of "a web site" — but hey. Not right now.

The point of this post, then, is just to mention that — like two years ago — we're having a bit of a 'do' to launch the new issue, and Amiee and myself are about to haul our asses out of bed in Leeds, down to That London™, and I'm going to be faffing around hooking up projectors, laptops, and generally stressing around.

Probably over-stressing around, to be honest.

So all the photographs that are about to appear (as long as my phone doesn't keep playing silly-buggers) are related to that.

Just so you know

I promise not to post a picture of my cock, like what I did last time.

...

Speaking of Amiee, through the power of the internets (which might seem odd, considering I could just go next door and ask her — but it's early, and I don't want to rush her), I happen to know that she managed to sort out her ticket back to the States at about 4am this morning.

Which makes me a little sad — knowing, that is, that there's an actual definite time-limit on how long we get to spend with each other for the moment.

But at the same time, I know that I'll be seeing her very soon afterwards — when I fly over for New Year. And besides, we've started planning the rest of our lives together.

Which makes me very happy

Did I mention I was completely in love with her?

Did I mention I was completely in love with her?

No, I don't think so... When did that happen?

Kisa, that is so awesome. Congratulations and best wishes to you both. -- Sho

Great to hear you are planning further ahead than new year
