Hello
I'm Siobhan Curran/Kisa Naumova, and this is my weblog. I tend to write about stuff like crossdressing, Macs, code, cats, wine and Second Life, but in general it's just an ongoing conversation about all sorts of stuff. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what this all is, I recommend starting on this page which has a little bit of info on who I am, and what I'm trying to do — or you could dive into my five years worth of archives if you like.
Otherwise, feel free to close this box and explore...

I am (very slowly) making a start on a series of portraits of people who went to Raul Crimson's Mardi Gras party
Oh MY how I love this!

I've got quite a few more of these to do (natch), but here's the one of Thau as the White Rabbit...
Would it be a pain in the ass to talk us folks through a step by step of one of these, complete with diags for each stage?
Puck
Um, I guess not — although it might be a little easier if I did that with the next one I did, rather than trying to recreate the steps involved in these two.
Tell you what though, I'll post both of the 'before' shots, so you can get an idea of how I've changed them.
Just out of interest...how often do you calibrate you VDU?
Puck
Oh god, not often enough. And to be honest, the ones I'm working on at home aren't calibrated at all, seeing as how I've half-inched them from work because my machine is stuck in my office. And even that one is mismatched — it was perfectly calibrated for print when I used to use it in the Repro studio, but since then I've had it set up for television-based work and never recalibrated it.
So it's too dark, which led to the hilarious moment when I posted a cool blurry photo I took whilst drunk one night, before looking at it on an uncalibrated monitor and realising it was a shot of my cock hours later.
sheesh...I guess you didnt post that one on flickr.
I bought one of those spyder fiendish thingies about 3 years ago but it;s sat in its box for most of the time I've had it.
Puck
Au contraire, it was on Flickr for a day before I realised ![]()
I've never tried one of those things. We got a guy to do mine professionally when I was in the studio, but I just used the calibration options in System Preferences when I was doing it at home — and a lot of glancing backwards and forwards between my monitor and the TV monitor.
"calibration's what you need" just before you sit on a box of chocolates...it's a Dr Who/Roy Castle ref.

BTW, sorry to catch You Up To Know Good© frinday night.

Good work.
It must be a bugger having standards that one has to live up to! ![]()
@Paula — haha. Actually, we were just testing out the poses for Thau's rather wonderful new bed that she made ![]()

Are they all going to have the same feel? They would make a great set if so. I really love the colours and textures in this. Almost like a painting.
